Modern technology gives us many things.

Bang & Olufsen combines signature audio and sleek design for Beosound Stage soundbar

Bang & Olufsen has announced its first soundbar which combines the company’s signature sound and flair for design in a product that will provide an immersive cinematic experience.

The Beosound Stage has a simple, yet elegant, design that’s available in natural aluminium, bronze tone aluminium or smoked oak.

A Frame runs all the way around the speaker which seamlessly integrates an engraved sensory control panel.

There is a 2mm gap between the frame and the fabric speaker cover which gives the illusion the speaker is floating inside the frame.

Under the hood the Beosound Stage has 11 speaker drivers which are each driven by its own 50W amplifier.

The result is a three-channel, fully active, DSP-based loudspeaker.

The Bang & Olufsen engineers have also included large custom waters that handle the lower frequency range to deliver remarkable bass.

The centre channel also includes four of those 4-inch woofers which reduce distortion and improve bass performance.

On the left and right are speakers that are optimised to deliver a three-dimensional sound for Dolby Atmos so you can hear sound in all directions including from above you.

Customers can choose from various listening modes which are optimised for what you are listening to whether it’s TV, music or movies.

After you’ve made your mode selection the Bang & Olufsen intuitive equaliser creates an easy way to adjust the sound settings and find the one that best suits your room.

The Beosound Stage can be used on its own or as part of a multiroom music system.

It is compatible with the latest streaming technologies including Chromecast, Apple Airplay 2 and Bluetooth which means you can use the sound bar on its own even when the TV is turned off.

“We created Beosound Stage as a powerful soundbar that doesn’t rely on a subwoofer or satellites to create an immersive experience,” says Christoffer Østergaard Poulsen, Vice President of Product Management at Bang & Olufsen.

“The first time you hear Beosound Stage, the impact of the deep, powerful sound hits you immediately, and the simple minimalistic Scandinavian design makes it stand out like a piece of furniture. It is simply clean, elegant and powerful.”

Beosound Stage will be available in early November and will be priced at $2,500.
