Modern technology gives us many things.

Samsung’s new Flip5 and Fold5 offer remarkable improvements and greater durability

Samsung has delivered stunning improvements to its Galaxy Z foldables – the Flip5 and the Fold5 – at its global launch in Seoul. The devices are thinner and lighter but at the same time offer even more durability and versatility.

At the heart of the products is a new Flex Hinge which provide zero gap in the folded position and as a result they are up to 2.4mm thinner.

And because the hinge is strong enough to stay open at any angle it offers a multitude of features and content viewing and content capture possibilities.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5 are available for preorder now and will go on sale on August 18.

The Z Flip5 will start at $1,649 while the Z Fold5 starts at $2,599 – which are slightly more expensive than last year’s models.

“Foldables, and by extension our Galaxy Z Series, are no longer a novelty. Adoption of Foldables continues to grow at pace both in Australia and around the world.” said Garry McGregor, Vice President, Mobile Experience Division, Samsung Electronics Australia.

“Building on the momentum of the previous generation, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 provide consumers one-of-a-kind foldable experiences that open a world of new possibilities.

“Since first establishing the Foldables category five years ago, we have redefined the expectations of what mobile devices can do and how people interact with their devices.

From Galaxy Z Flip5’s pocketable design that’s just half the size of a standard phone to Galaxy Z Fold5’s large multitasking display that doubles your screen real estate, to hands-free photo and video capabilities, Galaxy Z series owners find value that fits their lifestyle.”

The Galaxy Z Flip5 and the Fold5 have a shock dispersion layer and a redesigned rear panel to offer improved strength with the screen and chassis.

The devices are made from Armour Aluminium and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and the integrated hinge module has a new dual rail structure.

The Flip 5 has had numerous improvements and builds on the acclaim of last year’s Flip 4.

The most obvious improvement is the new Flex Window which is 3.78 times larger than last year’s front screen which gives users so much more functionality even when the phone is closed.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 offers a 6.2 inch display when it’s opened for those times you want a bit more room to move with your screen.

But when you’re done, it literally folds in half so it can slip it easily into your pocket or bag.

The front Flex Window nearly takes up the entire front half of the phone and only makes way for the front two 12-megapixel wide-angle and 12-megapixel ultra-wide cameras.

Customers will be able to access many widgets which can do everything from checking the weather, controlling media playback, checking your favourite apps, scan QR codes, use Samsung wallet and even taking selfies and videos. And all without the need to open the device.

The new Flex Hinge also makes the device even more pocketable and it now closes completely flat and with zero gap.

Flex Cam allows the user to come up with some creative angles for their photos and selfies as well as another way to view and edit their shots.

Galaxy Z Flip5 will be available in Mint, Graphite, Cream, and Lavender along with a range of accessories including a Clear Gadget Case, Flap Eco-Leather Case,  Flipsuit Case and easy-to-carry Silicone Case with Ring to create a more personalised look.

SAMSUNG GALAXY Z FOLD 5

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is the thinnest and lightest Fold device since its inception but still delivers the power, performance and durability high end users have come to expect from the popular product. The more compact hinge has shaved 2.4mm off the thickness to significantly reduce the bulk for dedicated users.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is also compatible with the S Pen – a feature introduced with the Fold’s third generation – so customers can write on the large 7.6-inch screen It also multitask with up to three apps open at the same time.

There is a new and improved taskbar to quickly switch between the apps you use the most with up to four icons at the ready when you want to jump back into them.

Samsung has also introduced a new thinner and more compact S Pen fold edition to make it even easier to carry with you when annotating documents and making notes.

And there is also a slim S Pen case which not only provide the protection for the device but keeps the S Pen at the ready without adding too much bulk to your pocket.

The main 7.6 inch screen is now even brighter by more than 30 per cent at up to 1715 nits which will make viewing the display even easier in all kinds of conditions.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 is available in Icy Blue, Phantom Black, and Cream and there are a number of cases that offer practicality and style including a Slim S Pen Case, Clear Gadget Case, Eco-Leather Case, and a Standing Case with Strap.

The Samsung Galaxy Flip 5 and Galaxy Fold 5 will go on sale on August 18 with many pre-order offers available to customers.
