Oppo launches new Pad 2 tablet which offers a unique viewing experience

Oppo has launched Pad 2 in Australia – it is the first tablet to adopt a 7:5 aspect ratio to offer a more comfortable viewing and reading experience for users.

Traditionally, Android tablets have a 16:10 shape but Oppo decided to make the move the other way so the device is more like the shape of an A4 piece of paper or a book.

The device is just 6.54mm thick and weighs 552g.

Oppo’s Pad 2 has an 11.61-inch display with a 2800 x 2000 resolution and support for 144Hz refresh rate to offer a smooth high quality viewing experience. It has 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard memory.

The Pad 2 display supports 1.07 billion colours and is certified by TUV Rheinland to meet the Low Blue Light standard so you can enjoy your content for hours at a time.

On the audio side, the Oppo Pad 2 has a quad speaker system that is symmetrically arranged to support Dolby Atmos. It also has support for Dolby Vision HDR as well.

Pad 2 is built on the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 platform powered by the ultra-core processor running at 3.05Ghz.

Under the hood is a high capacity 9510mAh battery that can support more then 12 hours of continuous video playback.

And when it’s time to charge, the 67W SUPERVOOC charger can get you back to 100 per cent in just 81 minutes.

Pad 2 is running ColorOS 13.1 and, with Multi-Screen Connect 2.0, it can connect automatically to Oppo smartphones to you can easily mirror and share content between the devices.

Users can accessorise the Pad 2 with a Smart Touch Keyboard, the Oppo Pencil and the Smart Case.

The Oppo Pad 2 is priced at $699. The Oppo Pad 2 Smart Touchpad Keyboard is priced at $159, the Oppo Pencil is $79, and the Oppo Pad 2 Smart Case is $79.
