Apple unveils 15-inch MacBook Air at the 2023 Worldwide Developers Conference

Apple has introduced an all-new 15-inch version of its MacBook Air at the 2023 Worldwide Developers Conference which maintains the thin and light design that made it one of the most popular laptops on the market.

The 15-inch MacBook Air starts at $2,199 and goes on sale on June 13.

“We’re thrilled to introduce the first 15-inch MacBook Air. With its incredible performance and striking design, the new MacBook Air is the world’s best 15-inch laptop. And it’s only possible with Apple silicon,” said John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering.

“From its expansive Liquid Retina display and remarkably thin and fanless design, to extraordinary battery life and an immersive six-speaker sound system, the new MacBook Air has it all.

The new MacBook Air has a 15.3-inch display and joins the 13-inch MacBook Air in the line-up.

The new 15-inch MacBook Air is the world’s thinnest 15-inch laptop and is powered by Apple’s own M2 chip with up to 18 hours of battery life.

The 15.3-inch Retina Display has up to 500 nits of brightness and can display more than a billion colours.

The 15-inch MacBook Air is just 11.5mm thick making it the world’s thinnest 15-inch laptop. It weighs 1.51kg.

Also onboard is a MagSafe charging, two Thunderbolt ports for connecting external monitors and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

It will be available in four finishes – midnight, starlight, space grey and silver.

The 15-inch MacBook Air supports up to 24GB of unified memory.

On the audio side, there are six speakers including two tweeters, and two sets of force-cancelling woofers.

The 15-inch MacBook Air with M2 is priced from $2,199 and $1,999 for education. It will be available from June 13.

The 13-inch MacBook Air with M2 now starts $1,799 and $1,649 for education.

The 13-inch MacBook Air with M1 is priced at $1,499 and $1,349 for education.
