Modern technology gives us many things.

Kobo’s latest Elipsa 2E eReader provides a new reading and writing experience

Kobo has released the new Elipsa 2E which provides an upgraded reading and writing experience so you can have your books at your fingertips and handwrite your notes directly on the screen.

The Kobo Elipsa 2E has a 10.3-inch E Ink touchscreen with ComfortLight Pro to reduce blue light and eye strain.

Users can adjust the brightness and colour temperature and there’s even a natural light feature which makes the backlight imitate the light at that time of day so it doesn’t interrupt your natural rhythms.

Of course, being a Kobo, it’s a premium reading device that offers a handy and comfortable way to enjoy your books.

And with a larger screen, you can fit a lot more text on the screen with less page turns.

The Kobo Bookstore is the gateway to millions of books including the latest releases and bestsellers which can be downloaded to the device in seconds via wi-fi.

And with built-in Bluetooth connectivity you can also pair your earphones and headphones to listen to Kobo audiobooks as well.

It also has 32GB storage so you can carry your entire library and all your noters with you wherever you go.

But the biggest upgrade to the Kobo Elipsa 2E is the ability to write on the screen with the included Kobo Stylus 2.

Users can create notebooks to jot down ideas and lists and then organise them onto folder on the device.

The Kobo Elipsa 2E can also convert handwriting to text and save everything in the cloud so they can accessible anywhere and on other devices.

The stylus is responsive like writing on real paper and even offers a similar feel thanks to the slightly coarse surface on the screen – just like paper.

It’s also possible to annotate your books and PDF documents.

Many people like reading books with a pen in their hand and the Kobo device allows users to do just that.

The Kobo Stylus 2 can be used for writing, highlighting and has a built-in eraser.

Kobo is continuing its commitment to sustainability with the Elipsa 2E which is made from recycled and ocean-bound plastic and recycled magnesium alloy.

“For over a decade, we have been innovating in the digital reading space with our best-in-class eReaders, expansive eBook and audiobook selection, and top-rated Kobo Apps. Kobo Elipsa 2E is the latest step in our journey to make reading lives better, bridging gaps between print and digital books, and offering an unparalleled reading experience,” said Michael Tamblyn, CEO, Rakuten Kobo.

“We understand that, for many of our valued customers, reading is more than words on a page. It is about engaging with ideas.

“Marking up, highlighting, capturing inspiration in infinite notebooks of almost magical capability using a versatile, intuitively-designed stylus – these are essential for capturing the thoughts and ideas that reading inspires.

“For avid nonfiction readers, eBooks have historically been an imperfect medium because they couldn’t mark up the text and engage with the content as effectively as with a print book.

“With the introduction of Kobo Stylus, we have solved that and with Kobo Elipsa 2E and our upgraded Kobo Stylus 2, we have created a superior reading experience for nonfiction fans.”

The Kobo Elipsa 2E will be available from April 9 and will be priced at $629.95.

Customers who pre-order the Kobo Elipsa 2E will receive a free $25 eGift card.
