Motorola’s new razr 40 ultra folding smartphone has largest external display on the market

Motorola has released a new folding smartphone – the razr 40 ultra – which offers a huge 6.9-inch pOLED display along with a 3.6-inch outside screen – the largest external display of any flip phone.

The razr 40 ultra is available in three colours – Infinite Black, Glacier Blue, Viva Magenta – and is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform.

Motorola also released the razr 40 – another folding smartphone which is almost identical to the razr 40 ultra – but with a smaller external display.

The razr 40 ultra has a redesigned teardrop hinge with dual access tracking that reduces the size of the system.

This combines with the ultra-thin glass and provides a near crease-less look and feel when its unfolded.

The large external display makes it easy to replay to messages, see you location on a map, frame up selfies and to easily read all your notifications.

The razr 40 ultra has a 12-megapixel main camera with Instant Dual Pixel PDAF which offers sharp images in all lighting conditions along with a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera that reside within the space of the external screen.

When you flip open the phone and you can also use the 32-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

The 6.9-inch inside display and the 3.6-inch outside screen both run at up to 144Hz refresh rate.

Also onboard is a long-lasting 3,800 mAh battery and includes 30W fast charging.

The Motorola razr 40 ultra is priced at $1,499 and will be available for pre-order from June 13 ahead of a July 10 release.

The razr 40 is $999 and is available in Sage Green, Vanilla White and Summer Lilac with pre-orders kicking off July 10 before it goes on sale on July 21.
