ViraWarn fits in your pocket and can tell if you have COVID in less than 60 seconds

Like it or not, COVID is still a part of our lives and something we don’t want to catch. Testing for COVID can take a while so you can’t tell very quickly if you have it or not. ViraWarn can fix that.

It might look like a small vape, but it can tell you within 60 seconds if you have COVID.

ViraWarn is still waiting approval by the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration)_ and is not on sale yet but Tech Guide took a hands on look at the device at CES Unveiled.

This is the latest version of the device we saw at CES 2022 which was larger than a breathalyser.

This latest version is slightly larger than a pack of gum and has a disposal mouthpiece.

It looks more like a vape and is small enough to fit in your pocket.

So instead of taking deep nasal swabs and waiting up to 15 minutes for a result it’s now as fast and simple as blowing into ViraWarn device.

The device is reusable with the bio-sensor cartridge only needing to be replaced after a positive result or after two weeks of daily use.

When users blow into the ViraWarn, biosensors are able to detect a positive reading and alert the user with a red light on top of the product. If it’s green, you’re clean.

One of the product’s developers told us of an ideal use of the device – when family and friends came around to see his new-born child he didn’t to risk someone exposing the baby top COVID.

Before they were allowed in they were asked to quickly blow in the ViraWarn device rather than taking an invasive RAT test and having to wait for the result.

ViraWarn will go on sale as soon as it receives FDA approval.
