Aston Martin names Bowers & Wilkins as its official audio partner

Aston Martin has announced it will join with Bower & Wilkins as its official audio partner for its new DB12 vehicle to offer drivers a superior audio experience.

The DB12 is the first Aston Martin to feature the Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system.

It’s a 15-speaker double-amplified 1,170W system that includes proprietary technologies like aluminium double dome tweeters and Continuum mid-range drive units.

A dedicated 3D headline speakers along with a powerful subwoofer completes the sound experience.

There are five 25mm Nautilus aluminium double dome tweeters located in the dashboard, doors and behind the B-pillar – inspired by the iconic Bowers & Wilkins loudspeakers with spiralling diffusion channels that reduce reflected sound.

Close to the tweeters are five Bowers & Wilkins 100mm Continuum mid-range speakers to deliver super mid-range performance and the reproduction of voices.

The tweeter-on-top technology minimises acoustic reflection from the windscreen and aims sound directly at the occupants.

“The alignment of Bowers & Wilkins with Aston Martin is an entirely natural one, with both celebrating their British heritage while being renowned for innovation and creating thrilling experiences,” says Dan Shepherd, Vice President of Licensing and Partnerships at Bowers & Wilkins.

“As well as car-audio integration, this exciting new partnership will also lead to elevated brand co-operations in the future. We proudly look forward to the next chapter.”
