Sonos releases cylindrical Sub Mini subwoofer to add a big punch to your audio

Sonos has unveiled its latest speaker – the Sub Mini – a wireless subwoofer that can add powerful and balanced bass to your home entertainment.

Sub Mini has a new cylindrical design and a more compact size than its predecessor.

“We’ve entered a more thoughtful era of streaming that prioritises quality over quantity, with creators and platforms investing in immersive entertainment experiences that put premium sound at the forefront,” said Maxime Bouvat-Merlin, SVP for Hardware and Operations at Sonos.

“Sub Mini is a welcome addition to the Sonos family, rounding out our home theatre product line-up so listeners can experience cinema quality sound that makes them feel like the main character – or player – in their favourite content.”

The Sonos Sub Mini can work with other Sonos music speakers along with its two latest soundbars – Beam and Ray – so you can boost your home theatre experience.

Sub Mini has dual custom woofers and advanced processing to offer deep and dynamic low-end sound.

The cabinet is acoustically sealed with both woofers facing each other inside so it creates a force cancelling effect to minimise distortion.

Under the hood is advanced digital signal processing to optimise bass response and produce full toned low frequencies that you usually get from a much larger subwoofer.

Usually subwoofers are shape like large cubes but Sub Mini has an entirely different approach with its round design to help it blend with your home’s decor and take up less space.

Adding the Sonos Sub Mini to your system takes just a few taps on the Sonos app and gives you the option of mixing and matching it with different Sonos speakers and soundbars to create the sound system of your choice.

The Sonos Sub Mini will go on sale on October 6 and we will be priced at $699.
