Apple’s new AirPods Pro offer better sound quality and personalised Spatial Audio

Apple has unveiled its most advanced AirPods yet – the next generation AirPods Pro – which offer improved noise cancellation, personalised Spatial Audio and adaptive Transparency mode.

The new AirPods Pro include the new H2 chip and longer battery life.

They are priced at $399 and will be available from September 9.

“AirPods revolutionised the wireless headphone category with an innovative design and incredible sound quality. With the new AirPods Pro, Apple raises the bar once again,” said Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing.

“The new AirPods Pro deliver even better sound quality, a more immersive listening experience with Personalised Spatial Audio and transformative audio features like Adaptive Transparency. With up to double the noise-cancelling power of their predecessor, the world’s bestselling wireless headphones just got even better.”

The new AirPods Pro have been transformed with an improved acoustic experience for deeper bass and low distortion.

Active Noise Cancellation has also been improved to cut out even more ambient sound.

Transparency Mode is now adaptive with the H2 chip reducing loud noises for more comfortable listening.

Now users can personalise Spatial Audio by using their iPhone to take photos of the shape and size of their head and ears.

The AirPods Pro now also includes volume touch controls for the first time so you can adjust the volume by sliding your finger on the earphone stalk without having to touch the iPhone.

Battery life has also been improved to 6 hours even when running active noise cancellation and a total of 30 hours with the case.

The AirPods Pro charging case now contains a speaker so it can be located like an AirTag using the FindMy app and even play a sound so make it easier to find.

Users can now charge the case wirelessly with their Apple Watch charger.

The new AirPods Pro will be priced at $399 and will be available to pre-order on September 9 and go on sale on September 23.
