It seems streaming music services are the flavour of the month. Less than a day after we wrote about Rdio another one has been announced – rara.com.

rara.com is now available in Australia after launching in the US, UK, Germany, Norway, Sweden and New Zealand last month.

Boasting a catalogue of more than 10 million songs, rara.com is offering Australians unlimited access to the service for just 99 cents for the first three months.

This price jumps to $7.99 per month for online access through the web on a computer.

For those wanting to access rara.com on their Android smartphone and the web there is a $2.99 three-month introductory price before it jumps up to $12.99 per month.

For this price users get ad-free unlimited access to listen to as much music as they like either on their smartphone or their computer.

The iPhone rara.com app will be released in the coming months.

There is no offline mode with rara.com so songs cannot be downloaded and storied in your device.

To enjoy the service users need to have an internet connection.

rara.com has secured licences from the major music labels – Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, EMI Music and Warner Music Group.

The service has a number of carefully curated music channels to suit all kinds of listening tastes and moods.

Being able to discover new music is also a feature of rara.com with the ability to find out what your friends are listening to and sharing your own favourites on Facebook and other social networks.
