DJI’s new Mini 2 drone can shoot 4K video and then fold up and fit in the palm of your hand

DJI has unveiled its smallest foldable 4K drone – the DJI Mini 2 – so you can capture stunning footage anywhere. And it can fit in the palm of your hand and weighs as much as an apple.

The DJI Mini 2, the successor to the original Mavic mini, might be small but it still offers remarkable image and video quality and can be used to capture a stunning landscape or your next party.

It has a small and easily portable design that tips the scales at just 249g placing it in the safest drone category.

Also on board are not only improved image capabilities but also powerful flight performance and transmission technology for a more reliable connection.

Pilots can also take advantage of intelligent pre-programmed flight modes to enable them to easily capture stunning footage.

The DJI Mini 2 is ideal for beginners and includes tutorials and other learning tools to help get them up and flying with this fun new drone.

DJI Mini 2 Might be small but it’s big on features.

It offers a maximum flight time of 31 minutes which is plenty of time to capture excellent videos and images.

And don’t think this little pocket rocket can’t handle rough conditions.

DJI says the Mini 2 can cope with high winds at up to speeds of 38 kilometres an hour while still offering rocksteady video footage courtesy of the three-axis gimbal.

Although these are beyond the legal limits in Australia, the DJI Mini 2 can hit a maximum altitude of 4000m and support up to 10km of high-definition video transmission.

DJI Mini 2 includes the company’s iconic folding design that makes travelling with the drone even easier and can be carried with you anywhere in case the opportunity to fly presents itself.

Like other DJI drones it includes high-grade positioning and vision sensors so you can hover precisely in place while GPS keeps track of the drone’s position at all times.

On the camera side, the DJI Mini 2 has a 1/2.3 inch sensor which is capable of capturing 12-megapixel images and a maximum video resolution of 4K at 30 frames per second at 100Mbps.

images can be saved as standard JPGs or RAW for users who want to do even more editing.

The drone also has 4x zoom so you can get even closer to your subject.

The pre-programmed intelligent modes means the drone does all the heavy lifting when it comes to capturing amazing footage with set movements and imaging routines.

These include:

QuickShots: Pre-programmed movements and image capture modes.

– Dronie: DJI Mini 2 flies backward and upward, with the camera tracking your subject.

– Helix: DJI Mini 2 flies upward and away, spiralling around your subject.

– Rocket: DJI Mini 2 flies straight up into the air with the camera pointing downward following your subject.

– Circle: DJI Mini 2 will circle around your subject at a constant altitude and distance.
– Boomerang: DJI Mini 2 flies a boomerang-like oval flight path around your subject,

starting and stopping video in the same place.
– Panoramas: Capture a wider perspective with select pano modes.

– Sphere: DJI Mini 2 automatically captures twenty-six images and stitches them together for a crystal-clear image.

– 180°: Captures seven photos for sweeping landscape images.

– Wide-Angle: Captures a wide 3×3 image consisting of nine images. – Image modes: Different photo modes for different scenarios.

– AEB Triple Shot: Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) takes three images of varying exposure and merges them for a vivid image. This can be edited further to bring out a High Dynamic Range (HDR) image in post-processing.

– Timed Shots: Give yourself a few extra seconds before taking that photo with timed shots.

The DJI Mini 2 is priced at $749.00 and includes a battery, spare propellers and a controller.

The DJI Mini 2 Fly More Combo is priced at $949 and includes three batteries, a charging hub, a carry case and controller.
