Modern technology gives us many things.

Thule backpacks go above and beyond to carry your gadgets and cameras safely

We write about a lot of products on Tech Guide and we need to carry them around safely when we’re on the move and when we’re travelling and lately we’ve been doing just that with Thule backpacks.

We’ve been using the Thule 30L Subterra, the Subterra Power Shuttle for our chargers, cables and accessories and the Thule Aspect when we need to carry our camera gear.

Thule (pronounced too-lee) has been around for more than 75 years after being founded by Erika Thulin in 1942.

Thule is probably best known for its roof racks, roof pods and bike racks and the power of the brand has carried over to bags and cases after the company acquired Case Logic for their expertise in producing durable products.

Today the company has a full range of consumer electronics and camera bags, sleeves and cases as well as a line-up of luggage bags.

Along with the strength of the Thule brand comes the company’s reputation for creating durable products.

For example, the industry standard for luggage is generally 600D nylon – Thule uses 800D to ensure even more strength.

The Thule Subterra, Subterra Power Shuttle and Thule Aspect all the tick the boxes in terms of design, versatility and durability.

THULE SUBTERRA – $299.95

This backpack has 30L of storage space divided between two main sections and numerous pockets and storage zones.

The bag is designed to carry a laptop and a tablet and offer easy access to everything.

One of our favourite features is the side access to the padded laptop pocket which was big enough to fit our 15-inch MacBook Pro and 15.6-inch Windows laptop.

This side pocket made travelling through airport security faster and easier because you’re always required to remove them from your bag.

In the front section is a tablet pocket that’s big enough to fit in the 12.9-inch iPad Pro and a Kindle e-reader.

There’s also a padded interior pocket for storing sunglasses, reading glasses or a smartphone.

Inside the main pocket there’s plenty of storage space, including a zippered mesh pocket, which was large enough for us to put our MacBook Pro charger, cables and even a thick book.

And it’s easy to carry around with the comfortable breathable EVA shoulder straps which we could adjust along with a sternum strap for added stability.

A pass through strap on the back means you can attach it to a larger carry-on bag.

And there are side pockets for your water bottle – on my most recent trip to Paris I stored a baguette in there.

The Thule Subterra was great to have by our side so we could always have our devices everything else at our fingertips.

THULE SUBTERRA POWER SHUTTLE – $49.95

A handy addition to the Thule Subterra back pack is the Power Shuttle a smaller case that’s perfect for cables, your phones and other accessories.

Inside are elastic loops to store cables and pockets to fit in other products and devices.

An electronics travel case for organizing and transporting a portable charger, cords and accessories.

Like the backpack, the Power Shuttle allows users to charge devices on the move using the cord pass through.

It’s also made of the same durable material as the backpack and is a perfect companion.

THULE ASPECT – $299.95

Anyone who owns camera gear knows exactly how expensive it is and how important it is to protect that investment.

For us, the Thule Aspect provided that ideal protection and provided easy access to your equipment when you need it.

Inside is a customisable padded storage area that can fit a DSLR body and your lenses.

This storage is also accessible from the side to make it easier to get to your camera on the move.

The top half of the bag opens up to reveal a large storage area that’s also easy to access anytime.

Versatile DSLR camera backpack provides fully customizable storage, quick access to gear and a comfortable carry in any environment.

It also has internal pockets and is big enough for additional lenses, your memory cards  and maybe even a small light if you’re shooting video.

The front of this pocket also has a zippered pocket to store your cables or your wallet.

A side strap can also be used to secure a tripod in place.

There’s even room for up to a 15.6-inch laptop and space for a foldable drone like the DJI Mavic.

Thule Aspect has adjustable shoulder strap and a sternum strap and an air mesh back panel and even a padded hip belt for added comfort.

We’ve been enjoying using the Thule bags which have featured in our travels both interstate and overseas.

They are durable and versatile – but they’re not cheap.

But customers purchasing a Thule bag will know they are strong, they can handle your day to day usage and will keep your gadgets, laptops and cameras safe.

At that price it’s an investment that will last for years and keep your expensive devices safe.
