The new MedSense TF01 Forehead Thermometer can help you stay COVID safe

The MedSense TF01 works in one second.

Simply press the temperature button just below the display to initiate the temperature check.

Once you hold down the button it projects a blue light onto the subject’s forehead which helps you judge if you’re close enough to take a reading.

The screen will display the temperature and also change the backlight colour to let you know if the temperature is low, normal or high.

If the backlight is red the temperature is to low – which could also indicate you didn’t hold the device close enough to the person’s forehead.

If the backlight is green the temperature is in the normal range of 34 to 37.1 degrees Celsius.

The backlight will turn orange when it reads 37.2 to 38.1 degrees Celsius which is on the slightly higher side.

And if the backlight turns red you will see the temperature is 38.2 degrees and above and that’s in the high range.

We’d say if you were tested and the backlight turned red, you’d be classed as a COVID risk and refused entry.

When taking a second reading it’s advisable to wait at least 10 seconds between readings.

Users can also change the temperature measurement unit between Celsius and Fahrenheit by pressing and hold the MEM (memory) button.

You can also access the previous nine temperature readings and recall them with a single press of the MEM button when the device is off.

Another press of the MEM button will show a number between 1 and 9 and show the last nine temperature readings.

The device is powered by two 1.5V AAA batteries and will switch itself off after 30 seconds of non-use to save power.
