Call of Duty: Black Ops II set for November 13 release

codbo2main5The gaming world is bracing for yet another chapter in the hugely successful Call of Duty franchise with the announcement of Black Ops II which will be released globally on November 13.

Treyarch and Activision are once again working together to produce the follow up to the original Black Ops game, set during the time of the Vietnam War and the Cuban missile crisis, that set sales records in 2010.

Black Ops went on to become the biggest entertainment release of all time when it was released in 2010 – a title that was beaten by another Call of Duty – Modern Warfare 3 – last year.

This time out with Black Ops II, the action has been transported to the near future in the year 2025 in the midst of a global conflict where the battle is being fought with advanced weaponry, robots and drones.

Black Ops II will also employ some new game play technology including branching story lines that will take players along different paths depending on the decisions and choices they make.

As was seen with the impressive reveal trailer, the single player campaign will offer a cinematic roller coaster ride with life-like graphics and an engaging story line.

“Hands down, this is the most ambitious Call of Duty ever,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing.

“We are bringing disruptive innovation to the franchise and we are doing it on several fronts. We’re pushing the boundaries technologically, graphically, and from a narrative and gameplay perspective.
