Modern technology gives us many things.

Colgate’s new Pulse Connected Electric Toothbrush can coach you to brush better

When it comes to cleaning our teeth, Australians aren’t very good at it with research by Colgate showing we miss 40 per cent of our pearly whites while brushing. But Colgate is doing something about it.

Colgate has released the Pulse Connected Electric Toothbrush which syncs with a companion app to ensure we’re building healthier brushing habits.

The electric toothbrush has built in sensors that can offer personalised guidance while you’re brushing to reach all your teeth and spending enough time in each quadrant of your mouth.

The Australian Dental Association says around 29 per cent of adults and 27 per cent of children suffer some sort of oral disease which can affect your overall health and wellbeing.

The Pulse Series 2 uses supersonic technology which can offer a higher standard of cleaning.

But it also connects to the Colgate app via Bluetooth to provide a personalised coaching system that can help remove 50 per cent more plaque than you would with a non-connected electric brush.

Through the app it’s easy to track how often you brush, how long you brush and the coverage of your teeth.

Through the Pulse Series 2’s onboard sensors, users can see detailed feedback on brushing angle, speed and pressure.

The app can also guide you through brushing sessions with a 16-zone sequence that will make sure you target areas you may have missed before.

The brush can store brushing data for 10 days, so they don’t need to have always have their smartphone with them at the sink while brushing.

Colgate has also gamified the experience to encourage users to hit daily brushing goals and unlock Smile Points.

The Colgate Pulse Connected Toothbrush is small and lightweight and includes two brush heads for sensitive and deep clean plus whitening and deep clean.

There are two models – Series 1 ($80) and Series 2 ($130).

Series 1 includes one brush head and a slim charging base.

Series 2 includes two brush heads, slim charging base and a travel case.

The Colgate Pulse Connected Electric Toothbrush range is now available in major retailers including Woolworths, Coles, Chemist Warehouse, Big W and Amazon.
