Oppo unveils new Find N3 foldable smartphone that opens up to become a tablet

Oppo has released a new foldable smartphone – the Oppo Find N3 – with a front 6.3-inch display and an unfolded screen of 7.8-inches to offer a lot more room to move for enjoying content and multitasking.

Announced at a global event in Singapore, the Oppo Find N3 will be available in Australia in mid-November and will be priced at $2,699.

“As we prepare to introduce the new OPPO Find N3 foldable smartphone to the Australian market, we’re thrilled to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation,” says Oppo Australia Managing Director, Michael Tran.

“The Find N3 is not just a smartphone; it’s a gateway to a new era of mobile experiences.

“Our 2023 performance has been strong, particularly in the premium space where we’ve introduced these new form factors.

“Building on the local success of the Find N2 Flip earlier this year, we’re confident that the Find N3 will captivate Australian consumers with its stunning design, groundbreaking technology and uncompromised viewing experience.

“We’re excited to see how our new Find N3 will reshape the smartphone landscape in Australia.

“We believe this device represents the epitome of excellence in the foldable market and we can’t wait to share it with our customers.”

The Oppo Find N2, launched in February 2023, is a flip phone which has been met with a positive response.

The new Find N3 is similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 – it has a front screen so it can be used like a regular smartphone and can be opened like a book to reveal a tablet-sized inside screen for multitasking or enjoying your content on a larger scale.

The Find N3’s displays have 425 pixels per inch (PPI) and 1440Hz PWM dimming so the screen is comfortable to use for long periods.

Both screens have an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate for more fluid scrolling and smoother videos and gaming.

The Oppo’s displays actually include a self-healing layer to smooth over minor scuffs and scratches.

Oppo’s third generation Flexion Hinge is smaller and more durable than the previous iteration and when unfolded the screen crease can barely be seen.

The Oppo Find N3 has an IPX4 rating which means it’s splash resistant and more durable.

In fact, the Find N3 is the first phone to be independently tested to handle more than a million folds.

On the camera side, the Oppo Find N3 has three lenses to cover the popular full frame equivalent focal lengths – 14mm, 24mm and 70mm.

Under the hood is Sony’s 48-megapixel LYTIA-T808 sensor offers superior dynamic range and tremendous clarity.

The Oppo Find N3 also sounds great thanks to the onboard speakers which are 30 per cent louder than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and solid bass reproduction.

Onboard is Android 13 with ColorOS 13.2 with the device set to receive four years of software updates and five years of security updates.

The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile platform with 512GB storage and 16GB RAM.

There is a 4,800mAh battery to provide all-day power and, when it’s time to charge, you can get back to 100 per cent in just 42 minutes and get to 80 per cent in 30 minutes. This is all thanks to the 67W SUPERVOOC fast charging.

The Oppo Find N3 is priced at $2,699 and available in one colour – black. Exact release date will be announced in the coming weeks.
