Google has launched its new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones which have a more powerful processor, improved cameras, an updated design and fresh new colours.
The new Google Pixel smartphones are available for pre-sale now ahead of an October 12 on-sale date.
Google also launched the Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Buds Pro 2.

The Google Pixel 8 (6.2-inch display) and Pixel 8 Pro (6.7-inch display) are both powered Google’s own Tensor G3 chip for an improved performance that also brings Google AI in to play.
The machine learning on the Pixel 8 is ten times more complex than the Pixel 6 which powers features like Call Screen which can answer unknown numbers through Google Assistant.
Both devices have a slightly tweaked design over last year’s models with more rounded edges, matte back glass and new colours and the same bar on the rear panels that house the camera lenses.
The phones are crafted from recycled materials, and both are rated IP68 which means they can handle a drop and a spill and some dust.
The Pixel 8 Pro display features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and the Pixel 8 Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
Both Pixel smartphones have an adaptive refresh rate that can go from 1Hz to 120Hz depending on what’s on the screen for an even smoother viewing experience.
On the camera side, the Pixel 8 Pro has a triple camera system – 50-megapixel wide-camera, a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera with auto focus and 48-megapixel telephoto camera.
The Pixel 8 has two cameras – a 50-megapixel wide camera and a 12-megapixel ultrawide.
They both have a 10.5-megapixel front facing camera.
The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro both have advanced image processing for better low light shots, and improved selfies while Video Boost will provide HDR+ and improved colour grading for pro-level results.
The new Tensor G3 chip will also power a new tool called Audio Magic Eraser for video and Magic Editor so you can have your image exactly how you like it with even more powerful editing tools.
Google also announced it will be supporting the new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones Android OS and security updates for seven years.
That means if you buy this phone it will have system and security software updates until 2030.
The Google Pixel 8 is available in Hazel, Rose and Obsidian. The Google Pixel 8 Pro is available in Bay, Porcelain and Charcoal.
