Here’s your opportunity to snap up a bargain – the Deebot Neo robotic vaccum will be reduced to half price when it returns to ALDI’s Special Buys from March 8.

Usually $799, the Deebot NEO will be reduced to $399 for the sale while stocks last – and at this price, the stock won’t last long.

Interest in robot vacuums is at an all-time high.

Ecovacs’ own research from late 2022 shows Australians’ willingness to adopt home robotics and lighten their loads.

Deebot NEO can both vacuum and mop and, with TrueMapping laser-based mapping, can navigate your home with ease and create the most efficient cleaning path.

“It is incredibly fulfilling to see our robot vacuums positively impact the day-to-day lives of so many Australians,” said Karen Powell, Regional Director, Ecovacs ANZ.

“We know from recent local research that robotic vacuum cleaners are more desired than ever before as the ease of use and time-saving benefits become more well-known.

“Our work with ALDI continues to help with this excitement as we are able to offer a great deal and further our mission to deliver Robotics For All.”

The Deebot NEO can detect objects in its path and avoid them and create maps for each level of a multi-level home.

Other Key Features:

Compatible with Auto-Empty Station: Available separately, the ECOVACS Auto-Empty Station can hold the dust and hair collected for up to 30 days, dramatically reducing the need to frequently clean the dustbin. Enjoy your home being cleaned for weeks with ease.

Automatic charging and continuous cleaning: Long cleaning paths are no problem for the NEO. If the battery is low, the DEEBOT NEO automatically returns to its docking station. As soon as it is fully charged, it continues cleaning the floor where it left off.

–  Mapping of several levels: Scan and store multiple maps of different floors of your home. The robot will customise its cleaning path once identifying which map it is in. You can also customise which room you’d like the robot to clean on each floor.

App control: You can use the app to conveniently control your robot from any situation and schedule a cleaning time or check the current cleaning status. Maps can be stored and individually adapted – with functions including Virtual Boundary, which limits the robotic vacuum cleaner’s operating area.

Customised Cleaning: customise specific suction power, water flow and cleaning sequences for each room in the home

Smart Home Device Compatibility: Experience convenient, hands-off controls via Google Home or Amazon Echo – simply link your smart home devices to your robot.

Stress free updates: The intuitive robot manages its own updates using ‘Over The Air’ technology. You can just update your APP to get the functions optimised and extended.

High Efficiency Air Filter: Breathe easy while your robot cleans. With its High Efficiency Filter, your robot will reduce airborne triggers while vacuuming.

The DEEBOT NEO is available on promotion at ALDI Australia from 8th March, for a limited time only at $399, while stocks last. It is otherwise available at the full price of  $799

Dyson has released its latest cordless vacuum – the Dyson Gen5Detect – which is the company’s most powerful cordless vacuum that incorporates its latest 5th generation hyperdymium motor and a whole machine HEPA filtration system.

The Dyson Gen5Detect is capable of 262 air watts of powerful suction with the filtration system that’s been engineered to capture 99.99 per cent of particles down to 0.1 microns.

“The Gen5detect defines Dyson’s next generation of cleaning technology. It is the combination of our dust light optic technology, dust particle counting and sizing, pioneering new motor and whole-machine HEPA filtration, that enables you to achieve our deepest ever clean,” says James Dyson, Founder and Chief Engineer at Dyson.

The new hyperdymium motor might be smaller but it is faster and more powerful than its predecessor, spinning at up to 135,000 RPM – that’s nine times faster than a Formula One engine.

The Dyson Gen5Detect has advanced cordless whole machine HEPA filtration which is fully sealed to ensure that only dirty air passes through the filter and expels clean air into your home.

“The best filter cannot provide clean air if there is an opportunity for dirty air to leak out of the machine – so our engineers worked hard to ensure that all our Dyson vacuums have whole-machine filtration,” says Charlie Park, Vice President of Floorcare at Dyson.

“In our Gen5detect vacuum, we went a step further with HEPA filtration to ensure that even particles as small as 0.1 microns remain trapped in the machine.”

Dyson’s global dust study in 2022 revealed 95 per cent of people are cleaning just as much, if not more, then they did last year to make sure their homes remain clean and healthy as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The study also revealed 40 per cent of people are only motivated to clean when their home has visible dust and dirt on the floor compared to 33% in 2020.

This is where the new Fluffy Optic cleaner head comes into play.

It has been revamped and can aim a precisely angled LED at the floor which will reveal twice the amount of microscopic dust with increased brightness and range so it’s easy to see exactly where to clean.

The vacuum also has a new user interface the displays in real time when the surface is clean.

A new piezo sensor uses acoustic sensing to count and categorise particle sizes to display them on the LCD screen and let you know when that area is clean.

“Software increasingly plays a more critical role in fuelling Dyson’s technology pipeline – across both the internal functionality of our machines and the information delivered to the owner,” says Chunrui Zhang, Head of Embedded Software at Dyson.

“The Gen5detect vacuum cleaner possesses both Dyson’s most advanced cordless software management system and uniquely updates owners with real time cleaning performance, ensuring a better understanding of the health of their home.”

Other key features of the Dyson Gen5detect vacuum include:

– Built-in dusting and crevice tool: The machine transforms into our most powerful handheld. Hidden inside the wand is a built-in dusting and crevice tool to save time between floor and handheld cleaning.

– Single button control: It has a power button instead of the classic trigger, for more comfortable, continuous cleaning. This also allows users to swap hands while navigating obstacles, making cleaning easier.

– Fade-free, energy-dense battery: Up to 70 minutes of suction, Dyson’s longest ever runtime in a cordless vacuum. Ten energy-dense lithium-ion cells deliver fade-free, powerful suction.

– Heavy duty cleans: The most powerful cordless vacuum weighs 3.5kg and now comes with a 0.77L bin.

– Easy, no-touch bin emptying: The straight, slim bin has an ejection mechanism with a rotary catch, to drive out dust in one smooth action. A silicone collar wipes down the mesh shroud to drive out dust without dirtying your hands.

The Dyson Gen5detect cordless vacuum cleaner is priced at $1,499 and is available now from Dyson online stores and Dyson Demo stores.

Samsung has unveiled its latest addition to its Bespoke range – the Bespoke Refrigerator which can be customised and personalised in a number of stylish colours and combinations.

Starting at $2,999, the Samsung Bespoke Refrigerator range is now available via Harvey Norman, Winning appliances, The Good Guys and the Samsung Online Store.

In stores, customers will be able to mock up various combinations on tablets and magnetic boards which include mini versions of the entire range of colours and finishes

Research has shown Australians have become even more particular about the way appliances integrate into their living spaces with limited colours and looks being the main frustrations.

Samsung Bespoke Refrigerators solves that problem and now offer the choice of combining modular units in a range of colours and textures to suit a customers style and change with their needs over time.

“At Samsung, we believe that Bespoke Home is more than a product range or category,” said Jeremy Senior, Vice President – Consumer Electronics, Samsung Australia.

“Given this success, we know that Bespoke Refrigerator and the broader Bespoke Home range is going to be extremely popular with our local consumers.”

The Samsung Bespoke Refrigerators offer advanced features including Triple Cooling to achieve optimal control of temperature and humidity in each compartment to keep food fresher for longer.

The Flex Zone and convertible modes allow customers to transform freezer modules in compartments into additional fridge space and back again which makes them perfect for entertaining.

Plumbed and non-plumbed ice makers have also been built into Bespoke Refrigerator doors with slim designs which free up valuable storage space so form will never compromise function.

Other models include wine shelves and Slide and Fold shelves to help customers get the most out of their refrigerator.

The Samsung Bespoke French door models are also wi-fi enabled and integrate via Samsung’s SmartThings app.

The Samsung Bespoke refrigerators join the growing line-up of products in Samsung’s range including the Bespoke AirDresser, Bespoke Jet and Bespoke Cube air purifiers.

What’s the hottest tech product and appliance Australian customers have got their eye on? It’s not a TV, a speaker or a coffee machine – it’s a robot vacuum according to the latest market research.

The research was commissioned by Ecovacs Robotics, one of the leading robotics brands, which today unveiled the latest model in its premium Deebot X1 family – the Deebot X1 Plus.

The study showed more than 60 per cent of Australians aspire to own a robot vacuum with one in three aiming to purchase one within the next 12 months.

Robot vacuums topped the wish list ahead of TVs, coffee machines and other popular technology and appliances.

This trend reflects the fact that more than 80 per cent of Australians surveyed are open to the idea of robotics in their home to take over their chores and give them some time back.

And while there has never been a greater demand for robot vacuums and mops, they also have to look good and deliver excellent performance at the same time, the research showed.

The Deebot X1 Plus offers premium design that was a signature of the range which is created in conjunction with Jacob Jensen design.

Under the hood of the new Deebot X1 Plus are most of the Ecovacs innovations including the strongest suction power at 5000Pa, the latest AI VI 3D and TrueMapping 2.0 technologies and the first natural language interactive Yiko AI Voice Assistant.

Also on board is the Ozmo Pro 3 oscillating mopping system which also includes a built-in air freshener to keep things clean and smelling good at the same time.

The included auto-empty station also makes life easier by automatically emptying the dustbin after vacuuming for a truly hands-free and hygienic cleaning experience.

“Since launching the first two models of the Deebot X1 Family that were a collaboration with Jacob Jensen Design, we have been overwhelmed with the response locally, and are delighted to be adding the Deebot X1 Plus into the mix,” said Karen Powell, Head of Ecovacs Robotics in Australia and New Zealand.

“This is particularly exciting as our latest market research shows that 59 per cent of surveyed Australians have a strong interest in interior design trends and almost two-thirds of those surveyed would like to own a robot vacuum in the future.

“We truly believe the Deebot X1 Plus will be the most beautiful robot vacuum in the market, something that can rightfully take pride of place in your home while delivering an unprecedented hands-free clean. Simply put, we believe that home cleaning has never looked so good.”

Ecovacs Robotics Deebot X1 Plus key features:

5000Pa of suction power for a lasting clean, effectively vacuuming dust off both hard floors and carpets.

–  OZMO Pro 3.0 Oscillating Mopping System that ensures no stubborn stains remain on the floor.

– Ecovacs Auto-Empty Station removes the need to empty the dust bin after every clean and with a fully sealed drawer style design dust bag, dust and allergens are contained.

Mapping and obstacle detection. ECOVACS’ AIVI 3D technology significantly improves the robot’s perception of the environment using laser and visual sensing technologies

– TrueMapping 2.0 technology speeds up mapping and offers a wider field of view.

–  AIVI 3D technology adds a third dimension to household mapping. It increases mapping speed, reduces cleaning time

– YIKO is the industry’s first natural language, built-in interactive assistant tailored for home service robots. By combining voice and visual AI algorithms, YIKO enables natural language communication and multimodal interaction.

The Deebot X1 Plus (Black) is priced at $1,899 and available from Bing Lee, Godfreys, JB Hi-Fi and ECOVACS.com/au.

It’s one thing to clean but you want to clean hygienically while also saving time as well and that’s exactly what the Samsung Bespoke Jet Pro Extra Stick Vacuum can achieve.

The Samsung Bespoke is an advanced cleaning system that can look after all the carpets and hard floors at your place as well as clean up pet hair if you have a dog or cat.

Part of the package, apart from the Jet Stick itself, is a charging station that also doubles as a cleaning station.

The Samsung Jet Stick has a five-layer filtration system with a metal mesh grill filter to scoop up the larger particles while the washable micro filter can capture up to 99.999 per cent of fine dust particles.

This is particularly useful if you or anyone in your household has any sensitivities or allergies.

Tech Guide has been using the Samsung Bespoke Jet Pro Extra Stick Vacuum for a few weeks and we used it to clean our tiled floors and our carpets.

And as the owner of two Dalmatians we also made good use of the Pet Tool.

The clean station is a tall unit that also doubles as the charger so you need to position it in an out-of-the-way corner near a power point.

When not being used, the Samsung Bespoke Jet Pro Extra Stick Vacuum is cradled on top of the clean station so its onboard battery will be fully charged every time you want to use it.

The Samsung Bespoke Jet Pro Extra Stick Vacuum itself is quite slim and light so it’s no effort vacuuming or mopping the floor.

There’s a decent sized dustbin onboard as well.

There are four levels of suction – MIN, MID, MAX, JET – which offers up to 210W of power and 135,000 RPM.

The modes can be set through using the buttons on the handle.

This display can also tell you the charging status when it’s on the cleaning station and give you the remaining running time.

Suction is impressive even in the lower modes which offer long run times, but we mainly used the JET mode to give us a solid clean with the main Jet Dual Brush head which was useful for removing pet hair from our carpets and giving the hard floors a sweep.

The obvious comparison for a similar vacuum would be a Dyson and while it’s not quite as strong suction-wise as a Dyson it is not far behind.

The latest Dyson is more expensive and it’s only a vacuum but with the Samsung Bespoke Jet Pro Extra Stick Vacuum you get a vacuum, mop and a cleaning station and lots of accessories.

The Samsung Bespoke Jet Pro Extra Stick Vacuum’s JET mode gives you about nine minutes of cleaning time which is fine if you’re cleaning a few rooms, but the slower modes can offer up to 30 minutes of use.

The Pet Tool is a smaller head and we used that on our furniture to vacuum the tiny white hair from our dogs.

The unit’s attachments easily click in to place to suit what and where you’re cleaning.

The main wand is also height adjustable to suit anyone so they can use it comfortably.

Included is a crevice tool to get into those small places and useful in the car along with the combination tool which has a brush on the end so you can dust and vacuum at the same time.

The Flexible Tool also make life easier with the ability to place the cleaning head at an angle up high do things like clean the top of cupboards and your blinds.

Also included is a short cradle to place all your accessories in handy reach as well.

But the mopping accessories require you to find your own storage.

When you’re done vacuuming, you simply place the Jet Stick on the cleaning station and press the front button and the content of the bin will be sucked out and placed inside the disposable bag that sits inside the unit.

The bag is large enough to last up to two months before it needs replacing. You get three bags in the box and can buy five-pack for $30 that would lost almost a year.

You can also manually empty the bin into your garbage, but you have to fiddle with the clip that disengages when placed inside the cleaning station to open the lid and toss out the dust.

This doesn’t work as well as the cleaning station which uses suction to get rid of all the debris.

The dustbin can also be detached so you can wash it in the sink as well.

One thing to remember when taking the vacuum off the cleaning station – be sure to close the lid of the dustbin otherwise you won’t get the same suction.

Now let’s talk about mopping.

The Spray Spinning Sweeper comes with two reusable circular microfibre pads and an easy clean bottle that slips inside the head and sprays water in front of the sweeper to get a good clean.

It also comes with disposable wet pads.

A press of the + button sprays the water – and you get a decent amount even with a short press so you can spread that around quite a wide area.

We used the Spray Spinning Sweeper on our light tiles and it easily shifted the dirt and stains we normally have to remove on our hands and knees with a wipe.

It would have been good to have a bit more speed with the mop pads to create a bit more friction and cleaning power but as is it still worked admirably.

The Samsung Bespoke Jet Pro Extra Stick Vacuum comes with two batteries (the spare one can rest on the accessory stand) so you’ll never be caught short on your clean.

The Samsung Bespoke Jet Pro Extra Stick Vacuum is available now and is priced at $1,149.

VERDICT

The Samsung Bespoke Jet Pro Extra Stick Vacuum is an effective cleaning system that not only does a great job vacuuming and mopping but also lets you stay organised and hygienic with the cleaning stand and accessory cradle. If you’re a clean freak – this will make you feel right at home.

We love our pets, and we keep them close to us, but a new Dyson study has revealed they leave behind a lot more than just their pet hair and can have an impact on our health and wellbeing.

Dyson’s annual global dust study involved 12,309 respondents from 11 countries, including Australia, and provided a deep insight into our cleaning habits and behaviours.

The COVID pandemic increased our concern and awareness of cleanliness in our homes with 93 per cent of Australians cleaning just as much if not more than they did last year to make sure their homes are a clean and healthy space.

The pandemic also saw a rise in pet ownership with 57 per cent of households around the world now owning a pet.

In Australia that figure is 52 per cent with a pet and 56 per cent of those owners setting no restrictions on the areas where their cats and dogs can roam inside their home.

Dyson customers who happened to be pet owners understand pet hair is a problem that can easily be seen and cleaned up.

But awareness about what else may reside on their pets is alarmingly low.

More than 60 per cent of Australians didn’t know that pollen could be carried on their pets and less than half (49 per cent) didn’t know bacteria could also reside on their pets as well.

Almost two thirds of Australian pet owners had no idea that viruses and house dust mite faeces could also be found on their pets.

And only 45 per cent of Australians groom their pets to keep them clean.

Dyson has a Groom Tool which are now compatible with their cordless range and can remove loose hair, pet dander, microscopic and skin flakes. So you can literally vacuum your pet.

“Many people think that pet hair is the biggest problem as it is the most visible,” says Monika Stuczen, Research Scientist in Microbiology at Dyson.

“It is unsurprising that people are unaware of the other particles that may reside on their pets because these particles tend to be microscopic in size.”

It’s not pet hair that triggers allergies but rather allergens found in pet dander.

The study also revealed that 38 per cent of Australians say they’re only motivated to clean up their home when they can see dust and dirt.

“It is a cause for concern if people only clean when they spot visible dust on the floors as many dust particles are microscopic in size,” says Monika.

“In fact, by the time people spot visible dust in the home, it is highly likely that there are dust mites in your home.”

The Dyson global dust study also posed an interesting question: are we cleaning the right spaces in our homes?

For example, 77 per cent of owners do not vacuum their mattress which is an issue when you think that nearly half of all Australian pet owners allow their pets to sleep on their beds yet are unaware of what they may be leaving behind.

Dyson has taken these findings and enable their vacuum cleaners to suit the conditions that customers face in their homes.

This includes engineers developing filters and seals to make sure that Dyson products not only captured the dust that you can see but also the particles you can’t.

“We hope this research inspires you to think about what is in the dust in your homes,” explains Monika.

“Just because it is out of sight does not mean it should be out of mind.

“The microscopic dust particles like pet dander and dust mite allergens may have a larger impact on your health and well-being than particles you can actually see with the naked eye.”

360 Smart Life’s range of robot vacuums offer quality and value and have the intelligence and technology to easily navigate around your home and delivery impressive cleaning results.

The line-up includes the S10, S8 Plus and the S8 and all can not only vacuum your carpets but also mop your floors as well.

Under the hood all the 360 Smart Life robot vacuums have LiDAR (light and detection ranging) technology which shoots beams of light to accurately detect the distance to objects in its path.

This combined with the anti-collision sensors means it can avoid obstacles in its path that would tangle up a regular vacuum and stop it in its tracks.

It’s also smart enough to map your home and work out the most efficient cleaning path no matter what the layout of your rooms are and the objects and furniture in its path.

And if you have a multi-storey home, it can even map and remember multiple levels.

Once placed on a new level, the robot will take a quick look around and switch to the right map for that level.

Each model also has Cliff Identification – a set of six sensors, so the robot won’t fall down stairs or off a ledge.

The 360 Smart Life S8

And the companion app gives users complete control – they can see the map of their home and see exactly where the robot is cleaning.

From the app, users can start the cleaning from anywhere – you might find out you have people coming over and need to send the 360 Smart Life robot out for a clean before you get home.

Tech Guide took a hands-on look at the flagship S10 – usually priced at $999 but reduced by 30 per cent to $699 for Mother’s Day – which has a slim design (it’s only 8.5cm tall) so it can fit under couches and beds and get into places where you don’t usually clean.

The S10 has trinocular built-in LiDAR for three-dimensional obstacle avoidance and can also easily identify between carpet and hard floors as well as multiple floors in your home.

On the vacuuming side, the S10 has 3300Pa suction with minimal noise and it has a 500ml dustbin.

When it’s in mopping mode, the S10 calls on its 510ml electronic water tank and cleaning pads to mop your hard floors. That’s enough water to handle 100 square metres of your home in a single pass.

15 years of research and development has gone into the 360 Smart Life’s software and hardware.

The 360 Smart Life S10

The result with the S10 is a 300 per cent improvement in obstacle avoidance, a 100 per cent increase in mapping accuracy and scanning range has also been increased by 200 per cent.

The other models in the range include S8 Plus ($899) which has 2700Pa suction, a 300ml electrical water tank.

Included with the S8 Plus is a station that can automatically empty the robot’s dustbin into the large 4 litre dust bag. This means the robot can clean your home for up to 70 days without you having to touch it.

The S8 ($599) also has 2700Pa suction, a 360ml dustbin and it can also mop.

If you want to spend less time cleaning and more time doing the things you love then you need to get yourself one of the 360 Smart Life robot vacuums.

Tech Guide readers can receive a 20 per cent discount when purchasing the S8 Plus from the 360 Smart Life website by using the promo code TG20 at checkout.

It would sure be nice if you and everyone else didn’t have to worry about weathering a continual stream of electric bills. You might finally find yourself in a comfortable financial situation where you’re even able to show your “nest egg” some love when you suddenly get slammed with a particularly monstrous electric bill.

The reality is that it takes a little bit of strategizing to ensure that you’re able to get the lowest price possible on your monthly electric bill. The good news is that we’ve taken the time to round up a collection of helpful and easily adoptable strategies that you can put into motion to cut down on the cost of your electricity.

1. Optimize your fridge and freezer temperatures.

Unfortunately, far too many of us end up unknowingly having our fridges and freezers set up at temperatures that are far lower than they actually need to be to keep the food fresh. You should go ahead and make sure that your fridge is set to 38 degrees, and that your freezer is locked in for between zero and five degrees. These temperatures are just cold enough to keep your food nice and fresh, without burning unnecessary energy.

2. Cut down on your time in the shower.

You’re certainly not alone if you’re someone who enjoys your time in a soothing, generally therapeutic, warm shower. The thing about this is that warm showers do a dangerously effective job at using up energy in your household. So, try shaving a couple of minutes off your average shower time. You might even explore a cold shower regimen. Cold showers continue to garner praise from the health and wellness community for their ability to improve circulation, elevate mood, and even help offset the negative effects of living with mental health conditions like anxiety and depression. Plus, you won’t want to stay in a cold shower as long as you would a warm shower.

3. Set up an energy audit.

Energy suppliers have been known to offer energy audits. Sometimes, they’ll even offer these for free. This can be an effective way for you to compare electricity. You might come to find that your particular utility company isn’t offering you the kind of rates that are reasonable for the amount of electricity that you’re using in your home. Plus, you’ll be able to work together to identify additional ways that you can cut back on the energy usage in your home.

4. Fix up those leaky faucets.

Not only is it innately irritable to hear the incessant drippings of a faucet that just insists on telling you its sob story, but the leaky faucet is also wasting a ton of water. Now more than ever is a time that all of us would do well to be extra mindful of how much water we’re using. The last thing you want to do is to contribute toward any kind of water shortage on this planet in the future.

5. Replace your most commonly used lightbulbs.

You stand to save as much as $75 by swapping out the bulbs of at least five of the busiest light fixtures in your home. Just make sure that you swap them out with compact fluorescent or LED bulbs that are sporting that wonderful Energy Star logo.

Just like that, we’ve provided a quick and intuitive rundown on ways that you can proactively cut down on your next electricity bill. The fact of the matter is that you’re already ahead of the game just by taking the time to read through these tips. Now, simply put these tips into practice, and start saving that money.

Ecovacs Robotics has taken automated home cleaning to an all-new level with the launch of the Deebot X1 Omni– a robotic vacuuming and mopping system that introduces several innovations.

And it delivers something even more valuable to customers apart from a clean home – and that’s time.

Time usually spent mopping and vacuuming is now the even higher responsibility of the Deebot X1 Omni.

Tech Guide has taken a hands-on look at Ecovacs Robotics new X1 Omni system that can be left to its own devices for even longer.

The sleek new system has a larger station that can look after both emptying the robot vacuum’s dustbin but also refill the unit’s water tank with clean water for mopping and even clean the mopping pads when it’s done.

One thing you’ll notice right away is the slick design of both the Deebot robot vacuum and the auto empty station that also doubles as the unit’s garage and charging station.

That’s because the stunning industrial design was courtesy of Jacob Jensen – the same design house responsible for the impressive Bang and Olufsen product range.

It’s not something you’ll be looking to hide from view.

The Deebot X1 Omni has even more powerful suction at 5000Pa, the latest AIVI 3D object detection and sensing technology, TrueMapping 2.0 to map and navigate your home and the strongest mopping system Ecovacs has ever produced.

Also onboard is the new YIKO AI voice assistant so you can issue simple commands while still being compatible with smart home assistants like Google and Alexa.

You can even drop in on the robot vacuum’s camera from anywhere through the excellent companion app and check up on your home and your pets and even have a two-way conversation.

The Deebot X1 Omni is the culmination of 20 years of research and innovation in which time the company has led the way with dual mopping and vacuuming and taking the lead when it comes to intelligent navigation and obstacle avoidance.

The Omni station is the first in the world to integrate and automate both dust collection and mop cleaning and drying with hot air flow while refilling the water reservoir from its water tank.

The onboard tank has a 4L capacity to enable the Deebot X1 Omni to vacuum and mop longer without you having to lift a finger.

Setting up the unit is quite easy using the companion app and the first thing the robot will do is map your home using the TrueMapping 2.0 technology.

What you’ll see is a floor plan of your home which you can easily label and identify each room and then direct the robot vacuum to particular parts of your home for spot cleaning and mopping when it is not performing its regular smart cleaning.

On the vacuuming side, the new Deebot has the strongest suction power at 5000Pa so it can really maintain your clean carpets and hard floors.

It has a four-stage deep cleaning system that offers an all-round clean with up to 95 per cent cleaning efficiency.

Another improvement is the latest AIVI 3D technology which means the unit can recognise and avoid obstacles on its cleaning path.

The AI has reached a point where it can recognise up to 18 common items left on floors including cables, socks and toys.

And rather than getting tangled up and getting stuck, the Deebot X1 Omni will not only continue its cleaning journey but also give you a notification about the objects it found so you can remove these obstructions and send the robot back to those areas to complete its vacuuming.

The AIVI 3D technology enables the robot to navigate even more accurately and uses an astrophotography-strength RGBD sensor to capture images and information about its environment.

In fact, the Deebot X1 Omni’s intelligence is similar to that of an autonomous vehicle and utilises Horizon GAI chips to improve the ability to identify and sense different types of objects while building three-dimensional information of its environment.

This latest Ecovacs model also provides the strongest mopping system ever with the Ozmo Turbo 2.0 rotating mopping system.

Once the circular mopping pads are attached, the unit knows it is in mopping mode and can go about cleaning your hard floors and tiles with a combination of pressure and a high-speed rotation of 180RPM which is strong enough to handle tough stains like coffee and soy sauce that may have solidified for up three days.

Usually having stains like this on your floor meant getting on your hands and knees with a wipe and engaging the elbow grease.

But that’s not the case with this latest unit which did a terrific job on our light-coloured tile floor without leaving hardly any water trails.

The mopping system has three pressure settings which also affects the amount of water the robot will use in the cleaning process.

With the YIKO interactive assistant, users can use natural language communication to control and enable precise guidance.

For example, you can say “OK YIKO, start quick mapping”.

it is also intelligent enough to even follow your voice and understand commands like “vacuum under the sofa”, “go back to clean the bedroom” and “mop the kitchen”.

The new Ecovacs robotics Deebot X1 Omni is a remarkable upgrade from previous models and really showcases the advances the company has made in automated home cleaning.

Ecovacs has also released another member of the X1 family, the Deebot X1 Turbo which includes the similar look and design of the X1 Omni along with TrueMapping 2.0, AIVI 3D, 5000Pa suction power and YIKO assistant.

It might have been announced two days before April Fool’s Day, but this new Dyson product is no joke. It’s the Dyson Zone – a wearable air purifier and noise cancelling headphones in one.

Tech Guide confirmed with Dyson twice whether this was meant to pull our legs ahead of April Fool’s Day, but the company assured us the Dyson Zone was real. It is a genuine product.

The Dyson Zone air purifying headphones are the company’s first step into wearable technology and combines a set of noise cancelling high-fidelity over-ear headphones with purified air flow to the nose and mouth.

Dyson says it’s the result of more than 10 years of air quality research and development that has gone into the Dyson Zone air purifying headphones that can tackle the real issue of air quality and noise pollution at the same time.

Air pollution, according to the World Health Organisation, is a real problem with nine in 10 people globally breathing air that exceeds the guideline pollutant limits.

Air pollution has now exceeded pre-pandemic levels across the globe.

“Air pollution is a global problem – it affects us everywhere we go. In our homes, at school, at work and as we travel, whether on foot, on a bike or by public or private transport. The Dyson Zone purifies the air you breathe on the move,” says Jake Dyson – chief engineer.

“And unlike face masks, it delivers a plume of fresh air without touching your face, using high-performance filters and two miniaturised air pumps.”

The Dyson Zone air purifying headphones have been in development for six years and underwent more than 500 prototypes before the final product was revealed.

Dyson is taking its expertise in air flow, filtration and motor technologies and packing them in to this unusual new product.

Compressors located in each year cup draws air through the dual layer filers and project streams of purified air over the users nose and mouth.

Photo: Matt Alexander/PA wire

At the same time, customers can hear high quality audio with advanced active noise cancelling technology filtering out ambient sounds so you can hear your music as the creator intended.

Over the six years in development, the Dyson Zone air purifying headphones underwent a dramatic change and evolved through several designs before landing on the compact wearable design we see today.

The Dyson Zone is the company’s first entry into the world of audio with a team of audio engineers and acoustic experts developing a higher performing neodymium electroacoustic system within each year cup.

And the active noise cancellation doesn’t only remove unwanted environmental noise but removes the motor sounds from the onboard filter.

A lot of thought went into the look and comfort of the product with Dyson undergoing detailed research into head and face geometrics to come up with a design that would sit and perform on different head sizes and shapes.

The Dyson Zone air purifying headphones will be released in the coming months. Pricing has yet to be announced.

LG has made vacuuming even easier with the launch of the new CordZero all in one tower hand stick vacuum cleaner which can automatically empty the dustbin every time it’s placed on the dock.

The all-in-one tower for the LG CordZero vacuum range takes convenience to a new level.

The tower can now also neatly store your accessories while still charging both the vacuum and spare battery at the same time.

On top of that, it can now automatically empty the dustbin thanks to a sophisticated three-step filtration system which uses three components to lock away dirt and dust.

When the dust bin is emptied, it removes the vacuumed items from the bin and transfers it into the storage bag while passing through two filters to ensure fine dust particles are removed.

This makes housework faster and easier so customers can spend more times doing the things they enjoy.

“Our latest handstick vacuum model is truly a game changer for household cleaning,” said Shannon Tweedie, Marketing Manager for Home Appliances at LG Electronics Australia.

“We are excited to bring this product to consumers as it addresses everything Aussies dislike about vacuuming – whether it be lacklustre battery life, emptying the dustbin, discreet storage or finding the many accessories we need for different surfaces.

“I personally dislike having to empty the dustbin before or after a clean, so I am certain that we will all now clean like a pro thanks to this clever self-cleaning functionality.”

The interchangeable Dual Power Pack allows users to charge both the handstick vacuum and spare battery, so they are never caught short. These will provide up to 120 minutes of cleaning time.

Onboard the stick vacuum is the LG Power Drive Mop nozzle so users can vacuum and mop at the same time.

The Power Drive Mini nozzle uses a rubber anti-tangle brush which is ideal for soft surfaces and pet owners.

The Bedding Power Punch nozzle uses vibration and suction to remove dust from soft furnishings without harming fabrics. It can also be used on mattresses.

And users can also connect to the unit via the LG ThinQ ecosystem through the LG ThinQ mobile app.

With the app users can track cleaning history and even diagnose appliance problems, check the status of the filter and receive a notification when the batteries are fully charged.

The CordZero All-in-One Tower handstick vacuum cleaner range is available now from leading retailers and online LG.com/au in two colours, calming beige and deep grey, for $1,699.

Attention ladies (and men with longer hair), Dyson has just released a new Flyaway attachment for its Supersonic hairdryer that puts salon level styling in your hands.

The new Flyaway attachment takes advantage of the Coanda effect, which was first developed for the Dyson Airwrap, to attract and lift longer hairs to the front while pushing shorter flyway hairs through the tress and out of sight for a smoother stylist-level look without heat.

The attachment, which is the result of remarkable engineering, has a semi-circular shape and connects magnetically to the Dyson Supersonic hairdryer.

Customers who have already purchased the Dyson Supersonic can buy the Flyaway attachment separately.

Dyson has used its expertise with airflow to create the Flyaway attachment which takes the Coanda effect – a phenomenon that uses a flow of air to keep an object attached to a curved surface – and applies it manage the hair.

“Our engineers are driven to rethink convention and our obsession with airflow led us to push the potential of Coanda after observing how stylists use a ‘brush and blow dryer’ technique to smooth flyaways,” says Emma Sheldon, Dyson Hair Care Category Director.

“Traditionally, this skilled technique involves the stylist using a round brush to section and manage the hair, whilst directing airflow from the dryer to push the flyaways into the style and out of sight.

“We set out to find a way to innovate a way to mechanise this method for the everyday styler.

jstankard

“The new Dyson Supersonic Flyaway attachment harnesses the phenomenon of Coanda to smooth flyaways out of sight, without exposing the hair to extreme heat damage.”

Dyson engineers studied billions of professional styling data while they were developing the Flyaway attachment and observed more than 420 stylists in 80 salons around the world.

“I think we can all agree that flyaway frustration is real! Nothing feels as good as that salon blow dry finish,” says Jen Atkin, Dyson Global Styling Ambassador.

“The trick to tame annoying flyaways is a core skill for a stylist. However, we want our clients to now be able to get that same glossy finish at home.

“Dyson’s latest attachment does exactly that – it allows smooth seekers to get a super sleek finish, on their own, not just from the salon.”

The Dyson Supersonic has small, yet powerful Dyson digital motor V9, which spins at up to 110,000rpm – up to 6 times faster than other hair dryer motors.

The new Dyson Flyaway attachment is priced at $99 but is also included with the latest Dyson Supersonic  hairdryer which is priced at $599.

De’Longhi has unveiled the new La Specialista Prestigio coffee machine that brings both the science of coffee making and combines it with the barista’s craftsmanship.

Following last year’s launch of La Specialista Maestro, De’Longhi has introduced the La Specialista Prestigio which is the result of thousands of hours of fine tuning to come up with a product that will allow users to produce coffee and hone their craft at home.

This is not a completely automatic coffee machine and requires more of a hands-on approach for customers who enjoy the coffee-making process.

Onboard is active temperature control as well as three automatic one touch recipes – espresso, coffee and long black.

The La Specialista Prestigio offers a stylish and sleek design which looks like it belongs in any kitchen.

La Specialista Prestigio includes innovative machine technology that is exclusive to De’Longhi Australia, including:

– Sensor Grinding Technology – there are eight grinding levels to provide precision control and grinding variability. Level 1 provides the finest grind setting, and level 8 the coarsest. Because of each blend of coffee beans’ uniqueness, grind settings have been created to maximise the chosen coffee beans aroma.

– Active Temperature Control – There are three infusion temperature settings, between 90° and 96°C, to accommodate different coffee bean varieties. Throughout the brewing process, the water temperature is precisely controlled, ensuring temperature stability and extraction consistency.

Smart Tamping Station – With an innovative tamping lever, La Specialista Prestigio’s Smart tamping Station allows you to achieve consistent tamping pressure and avoid the mess of coffee grounds on the kitchen bench.

Three Automatic One Touch Recipes – La Specialista Prestigio comes with three one-touch coffee recipes. Choose from Espresso, Coffee and Long Black.

– Dynamic Pre-Infusion – Dynamic Pre-Infusion improves coffee extraction by adapting the pre-infusion length to the density of the coffee dose. This process ensures an evenly distributed cover of water across the surface area of the coffee grounds.

Manual Milk Solution – La Specialista Prestigio’s My LatteArt steam wand provides a creative outlet for all coffee lovers. Create silky-smooth textured microfoam and craft your own signature latte art.

La Specialista Prestigio, De’Longhi is available in Matt Black and Metal and the La Specialista Maestro is now also available in Matt Black.

La Specialista Prestigio is available now and is priced at $1,149. La Specialista Maestro (in Matt Black and Metal) is also still available and is priced at $2,199 from all major electrical retailer outlets.
