Microsoft has released a major update for Windows 11 which includes bringing the new AI-powered Bing to the taskbar and being able to connect your iPhone to your PC with the new Phone Link for IOS.

Since the launch of Windows 11 more than a year ago the platform has kept users more engaged and has received a higher satisfaction rating than any other previous version of Windows.

AI-POWERED BING

The new AI-powered Bing offers a whole new type of search, chat and creation and the typable search box has now been added to the Windows taskbar.

Search is used half a billion users every month on Windows and the new AI-powered Bing will be at your fingertips to search, answer questions and chat.

PHONE LINK FOR iOS

Who’s have thought you could connect an iPhone to a PC?

That’s now a reality thanks to the new Phone Link for iOS.

Now iPhone users can answer calls and reply to messages right from their PC as well as accessing your photos through an iCloud integration in the Photos app.

ANDROID PHONE LINK IMPROVEMENTS

Phone Link has been available for Android users for some time, but the connection is now going to get even better.

Samsung owners will be able to connect their smartphone as a personal hotspot with a single click from the list of available wi-fi networks.

And they can take their browsing history from their phone’s browser to their Windows PC.

SCREEN RECORDING

Snipping tool now has a built-in screen recorder – a handy tool for teachers, creators, students and anyone wants to make an explainer video.

HOW TO GET THE UPGRADE

The new features for Windows 11 are now available via Windows Update.

If you have a compatible device running Windows 11 you can update to version 22H2 by opening Windows Update settings (Settings > Windows Update) and selecting Check for updates.
