Modern technology gives us many things.

Sony’s LinkBuds S are the world’s smallest and lightest noise cancelling Hi-Res earphones

Sony has released its second audio product in a week – the LinkBuds S – the world’s smallest and lightest noise cancelling Hi-Res true wireless earphones.

Weighing just 4.8g, the Sony LinkBuds S have been designed to match the shape of the human ear and provide a secure yet comfortable fit.

Last week Sony unveiled the WH-1000XM5 noise cancelling headphones.

The Sony LinkBuds S have 5mm drivers onboard to produce a clear punchy sound with powerful bass and clear vocals.

Under the hood is Sony’s Integrated Processor V1 to improve noise cancellation, reduce distortion and enhance sound quality.

The Sony LinkBuds S also support Hi-Res Audio Wireless thanks to the LDAC audio coding technology that has been adopted across the industry.

And your music gets a boost with the DSEE Extreme which upscales digital music files in real time so you can every detail.

Sony says the earphones will offer a “never off” experience so users can enjoy their content and calls all day.

LinkBuds S merge the ambient sound concept of the LinkBuds so you are aware of your surroundings with the high-quality noise-cancellation when it’s time to focus on your content.

In fact, the Sony LinkBuds S can automatically switch between noise cancelling and ambient modes automatically without the need to touch the earphones.

Speak to Chat pauses your music if you start talking to someone so you don’t need to touch the earphones – especially if your hands are full – thanks to the precise Voice Pickup technology.

LinkBuds S also feature Google’s Fast Pairing to link to your Android device even faster while Swift Pair lets you pair the earphones to your Windows 11 or Windows 10 laptop, desktop or tablet.

On the battery side the Sony LinkBuds S will run for six hours with noise cancelling on with another 14 hours available with the charging case.

And a quick five-minute charge will get you 60 minutes of play time.

The Sony LinkBuds S will be available in white, black and ecru (a shade of beige) and will be priced at $349.95. They will go on sale in late June.
