DJI to release new professional Inspire 3 drone on April 13

Leading drone manufacturer DJI is poised to launch its latest professional drone – the Inspire 3 – more than six years after the previous model was announced.

DJI released a global premier announcement which reads “Inspiration Arrives” with a silhouette of an Inspire drone.

The launch will be live streamed at 11pm (AEST) on April 13.

The Inspire drones have a detachable and upgradeable camera system and landing gear that rises on take-off to give the camera a clear 360-degree view.

The previous model – the DJI Inspire 2 – was released in November 2016 so it’s been a long time coming for professional users who use this type of drone for professional shoots and feature films.

Rumours suggest the new Inspire drone will be fitted with the Zenmuse X9 full-frame camera which is compatible with Lumix lenses and that will be able to record 8K video.

The Inspire 2 was capable of speeds up to 94km/h and can accelerate from 0-80km/h in less than five seconds.

We’re expecting the Inspire 3, like the Inspire 2, to have two onboard batteries for a flight time of up to 30 minutes.

It appears the Inspire 3 will also come with large foldable propellors.

All will be revealed on April 13 at 11pm (AEST).
