Sonos unveils new Move 2 portable speaker with improved audio architecture

Sonos has launched the Move 2 portable speaker which incorporates brand new acoustic architecture with dual tweeters to offer wider and crisper audio from a relatively small speaker.

Under the hood are three class-D digital amplifiers and a precision-tuned woofer that can produce impressive bass from a speaker that’s small enough to carry anywhere.

The device has both Bluetooth and wi-fi connectivity so you can pair the Move 2 to a mobile device and take it anywhere or place it in your home with the rest of your Sonos system via wi-fi to enjoy multi room audio.

Move 2 offers up to 24 hours of playback – that’s twice as long as the original Move – so the party can go all day and night.

There’s also a USB-C port on the rear panel that makes it possible to charge your phone or other devices on the go.

On the sustainability side, Move 2 has been created with recycled plastics and uses a removable and replaceable battery to extend its product life.

The chassis and packaging were created using sustainably sourced content.

Move 2 is designed to go anywhere and has a durable design with an IP56 rating so it can handle accidental drops, splashes, rain, dust, dirt and sun.

It also incorporates Trueplay tuning which allows you to optimise the audio quality based on your surroundings so you’re always getting the best possible quality no matter where you are.

Move 2 has an intuitive user interface on top of the device or you can use Sonos Voice Control, Amazon Alexa, the Sonos app, Apple AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth to control your playback and check your battery.

Move 2 also has the Sonos line-in adapter which means you can connect your turntable, computer and other audio sources.

Sonos Move 2 is available black, white and olive and priced at $799 and will go on sale in Australia on September 20.
